This may be helpful following a neurological illness or injury, or where there are complex interactions between physical health, mental health and cognitive functioning.

About Clinical Neuropsychology
|

Clinical neuropsychology is a specialist area of clinical psychology concerned with the relationship between the brain, behaviour, thinking skills, emotions and day-to-day functioning.
A clinical neuropsychologist has specialist training and experience in understanding how neurological, psychological and physical health factors can affect cognition, mood, behaviour, relationships, work and independence. At The Therapy Practice London, neuropsychological services are provided by Dr Daniel Silva, a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Neuropsychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. Dr Silva works with people experiencing cognitive, emotional and psychological difficulties in the context of neurological conditions, brain injury, functional neurological symptoms, neuropsychiatric presentations, trauma, adjustment difficulties and complex psychological needs. He works integratively, drawing on models including CBT, EMDR, CFT, DBT, Systemic Therapy and CAT. |

Initial Consultation

The first appointment is an opportunity to understand your current concerns, your background, and what you would like help with. This may include discussion of:
It is often helpful to provide relevant medical letters, previous assessment reports, imaging reports, discharge summaries or therapy reports before the appointment. With your agreement, it may also be helpful for a family member, partner or trusted person to attend part of the consultation, particularly if they can comment on changes they have noticed. Following the initial consultation, Dr Silva will discuss whether neuropsychological assessment, therapy, rehabilitation, signposting or another service would be most appropriate. |
