Dr Daniel Silva is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Neuropsychologist, approved by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). He is a Chartered Psychologist with the BPS, a Full Practitioner Member of the Division of Neuropsychology, and is listed on the BPS Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists.
He has a longstanding interest in neuropsychiatry, particularly in understanding the relationship between neurological conditions and emotional wellbeing.
His clinical and professional focus is on Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), a field in which he works closely with individuals and families navigating complex and often misunderstood difficulties.
Dr Silva is Deputy Chair of the Quality Network for Neuropsychiatry at the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London, where he helps shape compassionate, high-quality standards of care across neuropsychiatric services.
Dr Silva’s therapeutic style is collaborative, thoughtful, and integrative. He draws on a range of evidence-based approaches, adapting these carefully to each person’s needs. These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Systemic Therapy, and Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT).
Originally from Brazil, Dr Silva completed all of his professional training in the United Kingdom. His international background brings a culturally informed perspective to his work and underpins a strong commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion. He offers neuropsychological assessment and psychometric testing in both English and Portuguese and holds specialist test batteries validated for use with Portuguese-speaking clients, helping ensure that assessments are both fair and meaningful.
