Dr Daniel Silva is a BPS-approved Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Neuropsychologist, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).Originally from Brazil, Daniel completed all of his professional training—from undergraduate to post-doctoral level—in the UK. This unique international background enriches his clinical perspective and fuels his strong passion for equality, diversity, and inclusion in psychological practice and education.
He currently works as a Consultant Psychologist on a neuropsychiatric ward, supporting individuals with complex mental health and neurological difficulties. In addition to his clinical role, Daniel is a Specialist Lecturer and supervisor on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, where he contributes to the training and development of future clinical psychologists.
As a dual-qualified psychologist, Daniel has an in-depth understanding of how the brain and biology interact with mental health. He integrates this knowledge with evidence-based psychological models to inform a comprehensive and compassionate approach to care.
Daniel has a broad range of experience across various clinical settings, including primary care, acute mental health, and forensic services. He has particular expertise in emotion regulation and interpersonal difficulties. Rather than focusing solely on diagnoses, Daniel works to understand the patterns that maintain psychological distress, helping individuals build the skills they need to lead more fulfilling lives.
His therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing on a range of evidence-based models including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Systemic Therapy, and Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT).
Daniel offers individual and couple’s therapy sessions in both English and Portuguese.
